Sight Matters is the operational name of the Manx Blind Welfare Society, a registered charity dedicated to supporting individuals with serious sight loss across the Isle of Man. Our friendly team, bolstered by over 200 volunteers, is committed to enhancing the lives of more than 600 people affected by visual impairment. Located at our purpose-built headquarters, Corrin Court on Heywood Avenue in Onchan, we offer an extensive array of services, including a talking book library, a recording studio for our weekly audio news service, computer training, and access to specialist equipment and resources. We host weekly social groups and provide home and hospital visits, along with various social events throughout the year. All services are offered free of charge, apart from a small fee for lunches. Although we collaborate closely with other organisations within the Isle of Man's sight impairment service, Sight Matters remains financially independent, relying on fundraising, donations, and legacies to sustain our vital work.
